Various agencies have organized a caravan which conducted 115 minor medical surgeries as of February 15.
The San Carlos Diocesan Social Action Foundation Inc., the Office of the Ombudsman, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Department of Health, Negros Occidental local government units and the San Carlos city government worked hand-in-hand to sponsor the caravan.

The Office of the Ombudsman–Visayas and the San Carlos Diocesan Social Action Foundation Inc. will hold a caravan of government social services at the San Carlos City auditorium tomorrow, a press release from the Negros Occidental Capitol yesterday said.

Participating are national government agencies and government-owned and controlled corporations in Region 6 who will set up booths that will open at 8 a.m. San Carlos City Mayor Gerardo Valmayor Jr. and Ma. Sonnette Daquita of the Ombudsman Region VI, will cut the ceremonial ribbon.

San Carlos City is hosting an All Visayas Football Festival for girls’ Under-13 and boys’ Under-14 on Feb. 23-26.

This will be followed by the Summer Football League on March 24 and Philippine Football Federation (PFF) Caravan on April 14-15, football coach and PFF coordinator in north Negros Occidental John Carmona disclosed.

A strong 6.9 magnitude earthquake, at a depth at 29 miles, struck off the Philippines Monday, southeast of Bacolod in the Negros islands at 0349 GMT, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage, and the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said that based on all available data a Pacific-wide tsunami is not expected.

Kiwanis Club of San Carlos City in Negros Occidental donated a 14” color TV set to Campo Siete Day Care Center, Brgy. 5, recently.

Junover Dela Rosa, Kiwanis club president said, Campo Siete Day Care Center is the club’s first recipient of their charity works this year.

He said the cable ready TV set was requested by the community through CSWD day care worker EdnalunaLandao to aid classes to 67 pre-schoolers in the said day care center, a San Carlos press release said.
