Police raided a suspected drug den, locally called a “shabu tiangge”, Saturday in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, arrested 10 suspects, including a minor, and recovered about eight grams of suspected shabu.

Armed with a search warrant issued by Judge Kathrine Go, a team led by Supt. Harold Tuzon swooped down on the house of Jesus Agbay, allegedly being used as a drug den at Interior Dos Hermanos Street in Brgy. 3, San Carlos City.

Aside from Agbay, also arrested were Jose Domecillo, Nozanor Pacadato, Kirk Anthony Benito, Mark Lester de la Cruz, Edwina Aravan, Jason Areli, Joan Cristopher Luage, Noradith Alingasa and a 15-year-old whose identity is being withheld by the police.

Tuzon, who is the San Carlos police chief, said the arrest of the suspects yielded 26 sachets of suspected shabu, estimated at eight grams, six more sachets with traces of suspected shabu, and P2,100 in cash believed to be proceeds from the sale of the prohibited drug.

Except for the minor, who is now under the custody of the City Social Welfare and Development Office, the other suspects are now detained at the San Carlos police jail.

The raid was witnessed by Kagawads Felino Ramon Ramos and Rodney Zapanta and Julius de la Rosa of the San Carlos City Prosecutor’s Office
